It's hard to put into words what a good cup a coffee, latte, or americano can do for this girl. Do you ever have a night where you tossed in the sheets restlessly, or the kids seemed to be making noises all night long? The sun comes up and the house awakens, and you find your head burrowing under the pillow?
I have an old Bill Cosby bit that I pull out at times like these. I recall it to be a scene where he is recovering from getting his tonsils out or something similar. So I say "nope. don't want to. 'Cuz every time I open my eyes, the whole world starts spinning, an' I say woah, wow..."
But I'll let you in on my little secret. As I lay there fighting the inevitable, I start thinking about that first cup of coffee. Ooh... I remember how good it tastes, and all the memories we've had together, and think of the nice moment we will have that morning. And that is all it takes to get me crawling out of bed! It's such a simple pleasure, yet it can bring such good feelings of enjoyment and satisfaction. (and it works pretty good on a restful nights sleep too.)

I honestly already cannot wait until May! It may (cough, cough.. May?) be a long ways away, but every time I think about it I get excited! In May comes my trip to Colorado. When I get to say adios to the long MN winter and sweep it from my mind. It's when I get to take a break from the daily grind at home and head off and do what I love. Hike! And RELAX. Breath in the fresh mountain air and feel the warm rays of the sun. Spend time with my sister. See 'old' friends. Maybe soak in the bliss of the hotsprings. Ahhh... I can almost feel it already.
